Setting Up Evolution Mail to Access Your POP3 Account

This tutorial shows you how to set up Evolution to work with your e-mail account.

  1. From the Edit menu, select Preferences.

  2. Select Mail Accounts, and click Add(+).



  3. In the Account Management screen, enter a name to identify this account and click Forward.



  4. In the Identity screen, enter your full name, email address and any optional information you want to include and then click Forward.



  5. In the Receiving Email screen, select POP from the Server Type list and complete the following fields. When you are finished click Forward.

  6. Under Configuration, in the Server field, enter mail.yourdomain.com as your incoming server name.

  7. In the User Name field, enter your entire e-mail address all lower case.

  8. From the Authentication Type list, select Password.



  9. In the Receiving Options screen, set your preferences and click Forward.



  10. In the Sending Email screen, select SMTP from the Server Type list and complete the following fields. When you are finished, click Forward.

  11. Under Server Configuration, in the Server field, enter your ISP's Outgoing SMTP mail server. .



  12. Click Apply to complete the configuration process.



NOTE: Your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will provide you with the correct information. Contact your Internet Service Provider to get this setting.
