Subdomains

A SubDomain is a domain name that is based on your current domain name. An example of a subDomain of yourdomain.com would be sales.somedomain.com.This feature is useful if you want to divide up your site into different sections. The document root for your subdomain will be the subdirectory that has the same name as your subdomain prefix. For example:

http://catalog.yourdomain.com
is the same as
http://yourdomain.com/catalog

Sub-domains can be used for many different purposes, including hosting friends or clients. Sub-domains are easy to setup and easy to manage.

Enter the name of the subdomain that is wanted or needed and select the main domain name it will reside under, then click add.

Once a subdomain name has been setup a user can then chose from three different options.

Setup Redirect

This will allow a user to setup another link for the subdomain to direct users to. This is useful if a user wants a short URL to something that has a long URL.

Remove Redirect

This will remove the redirect allocated to that subdomain.

Delete

This will delete the selected subdomain.
